Happy Hanukkah

Tonight begins the holiday of Hanukkah. I know I posted these songs earlier, but hey...(Look at the comments below, I messed up the date. Hanukkah actually starts Tuesday night. Thanks Julie.)

Over 2200 years ago (year 165 BCE) the Maccabees led the Jews in a revolt against their Assyrian overlords in order to celebrate their religion as they pleased. (Yes, we won. Huzzah.) Today Jewish children everywhere remember the first war for religious freedom. Unfortunately in our world, people still die simply because of how they chose to pray or not pray to God. May God have mercy on all of us.

By the way, God definitely has a sense of humor..
