Autism Science Foundation is having a special year-end fundraising campaign. For those of you who are unfamiliar with ASF, here is what they are all about in their own words:
The Autism Science Foundation's mission is to support autism research by providing funding and other assistance to scientists and organizations conducting, facilitating, publicizing and disseminating autism research. The organization also provides information about autism to the general public and serves to increase awareness of autism spectrum disorders and the needs of individuals and families affected by autism.
Their fundraiser is called Recipe 4 Hope.
There are many ways that you can help ASF. Just go to this information page for some ideas. Besides donating you can tweet, blog, status update on facebook and even bake. I have to admit that baking is one of the ways I am definitely not going to be helping. Just ask my boys about by non-baking prowess.
In the meantime read this wonderful interview with the President of ASF Alison Singer by Shannon Des Rochas Rosa. Then read Shannon's blog Squidalicious, her advocacy stories at Can I Sit with You and her latest project The Thinking Person's Guide to Autism.
Until next time,
